A better understanding of the Southwest United States is promoted when you learn about both the Chihuahuan Desert and the co-existing Basin and Range Province.
As explained in recent posts, living in the Basin and Range Province and the Chihuahuan Desert for 14 years (1977-1991) left a lasting influence on my geological/ecological ways-of-thinking. I will seek out more resources in the next few days.
