Did you know that there used to be a U.S. Hwy 666? It was not named to be spooky or macabre, but it was intended to be a spur of the famous U.S. 66. The northern part is in western and northwestern New Mexico and is now U.S. 491. The southern part is now U.S. 191 and is in eastern and southeastern Arizona.
U.S. 491 in NW New Mexico hosts part of the Oligocene to Miocene Navajo Volcanic Field, subject of the two above-cited posts.
