Though related, these two disciplines are not the same. Ecology is a "branch" of Biology relating to organisms and their interactions with their surrounding Ecosystems, including how those organisms themselves influence their resident Ecosystems.
"Environmental Science" is more of a "hybrid" discipline, incorporating elements of Biology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Human Culture, Politics, Economics, i.e., looking more at the "big picture" of the natural and the human-influenced aspects of the Earth.
